Frequently Asked Questions :
Q: What is a single process color? A: A "single process" involves the application of one color or toner to achieve an all over color. There may be some dimension, or contrast, in the color depending upon the type of color used and the existing color of the hair. Q: Difference between cap and foil highlights? A: Yes, definitely! We use foil on most highlights, with the exception being very short hair, because foil gives the colorist greater control on color placement and the ability to use different colors in each individual foil. It is not unusual for our colorists to use two or three colors in a foil highlight. Q: Do you use computer imaging or photo books? A: Photographs and other visual images are helpful references, but we do not use computer imaging because it creates a false expectation and limits the stylist to a few haircuts and colors included in the software. Technology is a wonderful tool, but this technology does not take an individual's hair texture, density, or base color into account. Trust your hair stylist to design a look that suits you. Maybe an adaptation of the Meg Ryan or George Clooney cut would work better for you. Q: Can I swim in a chlorinated pool after color? A: Yes, but you should rinse your hair first with non-chlorinated water, apply a leave-in conditioner, and wear a bathing cap. At the very least, never let chlorinated water dry in your hair. If your color starts to change, use a clarifying shampoo keeping in mind that your color will need to be refreshed more frequently. Q: What is the nearest T-stop? A: Station Landing is connected to the Wellington T Station by a covered walkway called the Skywalk. The Skywalk is connected to a multistory parking garage, and we are at one of the corners of the main intersection to the right of the garage exit. Boston Sports Club is across Earhart Landing from us. Q: Where can I park? A: There is ample free parking surrounding the salon, but there is a 2 hour limit. Clients getting longer services are encouraged to park in the multistory parking garage for $3.00 per day. A few clients have been towed. Q: How should I tip? A: Most clients use the same guidelines as in restaurants for their stylist and $4.00-$5.00 for the shampoo person. Q: Who is the best stylist? A:That is impossible to say because each of our stylists has a unique style. What may be the best for one client may not be for another. Be confident that all of our stylists are extensively trained in all hair types and current trends and that only the most talented students are promoted to Junior Stylist. And feel free to see more than one stylist in our salon, so you feel confident that your stylist is the best for you. Q: What is the difference between a trim and a haircut? A: There is no difference. Whether 1/4" or 4" is cut, the service is the same. |
